#TrueNews,#UK,#Health : Human blood inside a packet of duck pancakes

A couple were disgusted after they found what appeared to be human blood inside a packet of duck pancakes that they bought from Tesco.

Kate and Fintan Arrowsmith had invited friends to join them for dinner on Pancake Day, and had bought the pancakes together with a piece of aromatic duck in preparation.

However, when Fintan went to open the pancakes in the kitchen of their home near Sleaford, Lincolnshire, he noticed a red substance inside the packet.

The couple claim the packaging was airtight and had not been opened.

They told Lincolnshire Live that as well as the red liquid there was a razor-type slit in the pancakes, leading them to believe that the sustance was blood.

The couple believe a factory worker may have slit their finger on a knife used to slice the pancakes.

Fintan said: 'We believe this to be human blood. The pancakes where sealed and air tight. There was a razor cut in the pancakes. We guess someone on production cut their finger. We were ill for the whole weekend at the thought we could have consumed this.'

Kate added: 'We could have eaten them. We were about to put them in the microwave when we noticed the red in the packaging.'

They took the pancakes back to Tesco, and the supermarket chain provided them with a written response as well as a £10 gift voucher by way of apology.

Fintan Arrowsmith complained to Tesco on Facebook after making the gruesome discovery

The letter read: 'I am so sorry you found what appears to be blood on your pancakes. I can completely understand how concerned you must be about this.

'We take the safety of all the products we sell very seriously, although I can see that your experience doesn't reflect this. We know it is time consuming to complain, but we are grateful that you have, as it gives us the chance to address any issues with our products.

'They'll take your feedback on board, look into this and do everything they can to make sure that something like this doesn't happen again.'

But Fintan was unhappy with the supermarket's response, saying: 'Tesco has just fobbed us off. This must be a serious breach of health and hygiene.'
